How You Can Help
Love Mt. Gilead Friends Retreat as much as we do? Donate today!
The Volunteers and Friends of Mt. Gilead
The work of Mt. Gilead Friends Retreat is carried out completely by volunteers of all ages. Fox Haven (our hermitage) embodies the spirit of dozens of people who prepared the logs, raised the walls, crafted the front door – and today, clean and maintain the interior so that visitors may enjoy the peace and beauty found within.
We need specialists in fundraising or public relations, mailing party helpers (folding newsletters, taking the mail to the post office, etc.), greeters for visitors, public event outreach people, Fox Haven greeters, photographers, data inputers, and those to help solicit and assemble newsletter copy. Seasonal caretakers are needed to help clean and care for the Hermitage and Composting Toilet shed (you can sign up for a three month period, March-May, June-August, September-November, or December-February.) You can also join us for spring and fall workdays, helping to organize, clear trails, remove storm debris – or even help by bringing a dish to the potluck following the workday!
